Mr John George about to make arrangement with Great Western Railway Co. for conveying coals and merchandise from Gloucester by railway to Cirencester and places beyond but proposing to convey them from Wallbridge instead of Gloucester to the Stroud station on condition of being allowed drawback of 1s per ton on equal quantity entering T&S Canal and carried up to Brimscombe. Adopted.

At a Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Friday October 23rd 1846
M^r Jn^o Holbrow In the Chair.
The Minutes of the last General Half yearly Meeting were read and confirmed.
The several Books and Accounts were produced as directed by the Act of Parliament and were examined and passed.
It appears that the sum of £2833..15..10 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 31st day of March last to the 30th day of September 1846, a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages Disbursement, etc, and that there remain in the Treasurer's hands after paying the last dividend the sum of £211..2..8.
Ordered that a Dividend of £10..10 on each Share be declared.
M^r Jn^o George attending respecting an arrangement he is about to make with the Great Western Railway Company for conveying Coals and Merchandise from Glocester by Railway to Cirencester and places beyond, but proposing to convey them from Wallbridge instead of Gloucester to the Stroud Station on condition of his being allowed a Drawback of one Shilling per ton on an equal quantity (?entering) the Thames and Severn Canal and carried up to Brimscombe.
Resolved that this proposition be adopted.
