To Board of Trade
London

Summary

Referring to the draft order of the Board of Trade - funding provisions of Part II of the National Insurance Act 1911. There is seldom any changes in the workmen of the Canal Co. The number employed is limited and the work is ordinary maintenance of existing works, therefore the men are constantly in work and therefore any extra payment by the Company or the men would be unnecessary. Temporary workers are always consulted re unemployment contributions. This Company concurs with the Canal Association with the objections lodged by them with the Board of Trade.
