The canal has been raked between the bridge and the bathing place at Stonehouse and nothing found to obstruct traffic as mentioned by you. There is a fair depth of water in the middle. The problem may have been caused by your Captain's reluctance to wait below the bridge at Stonehouse Wharf until a laden boat had passed as requested by Captain of Messrs Butlers Motor Barge (Kathleen).
