An Estimate of the charge for Workmanship and Materials of all kind for making in a good and Substantial Manner that Part of the intended Sroudwater Navigation
Thar is not now begun (Viz)
From the Lower corner of Mr Kings orchard at Whitminster to a certain Place called Wallbridge near the Town of Stroud in the County of Gloucester. Make all the Cutts as near as Posable as lay^d down in the Plan, Turg and Puddle the banks in a good and Substantial Manner. Also Build Locks Bridges Aquedicts and wast Gates As herein Mentioned and for the following Sum (Viz}

Making Witminster Mill Pond to 40 feet broad from the Mill up to where the Cutt begins
Pay for water being drawd down whilst widening.
Building two carriage bridges some where between Whitminster Mill Pond and the Bristol Road.
Building a Lock at the Bristol road and a bridge over the tail of the same.
compleat the cutting, Take down trees and hedges up to the Bristol road: 2336..16..3.
Building a Lock in Dudley Baxters Grounds.
Building a Lock in Westend common field.

Propose to take the water of Cuckolds Brook into the Canal,
Building a Lock in M^r James Grounds.
Building a carriage bridge in Mr Beards pastuer,
There is a spring of water which is Proposed to be let go by a Tunnell under the Canal.
Building a Carriage bridge in the road to M^r Cooks house.
Building a Stank in the Painswick water near M^r Cooks Mill Pond.
Make all the Cutting as aforesaid and as lay^d down in the Paln the whole of the aforementioned works to be done will and to the satisfaction of the Proprietors for the Sum of: 14225..8..6.
The Contractor Proposes to Compleat the navigation up to the Bristol Road before he receive and Payment.
And when that is compleat the Proprietors to Pay him £1000 and when the Navigation is complet up to Chippenham Splatt The Proprietors to Pay the Contractor £2500 more.
As so in Proportion to have Payments made not to leave less than £1000 of work and materials in hand, and when the S^d Navigation is complet up to the Town of Stroud The Ballance to be P^d the Contractor according to the whole Sum agreed for.
