Building the sea wall of Abby Tinton stone at Framiload [sic] for 6d per cubic yard
Abby Tinton June y^s 10^th 1777
The Proposals of Walter Bowen, Mason for the Building a Ruff & Strong Sea Wall on the Bank of the Severn Adjoining on to the Framiload Lock, is as Followeth.
First to have the Foundation well Cleared Out, and that my Building Stone, & Lime Stone, be Carried from my Quarryes on the Banks of the River Wye, to the said Lock or Place adjoining at the Expence of the Committee or Proprietors of the said Lock, and that the Limekiln now at the said Lock be Lent to burn the Lime for that Purpose and the Lone of a Boat or Barge in Order to carry Gravel & Sand Such as will be wanting In the Morter.
Having there things Alowed me as above & I Finding Ruff and Good Strong Building Stone together with the Lime Stone the Lime Coal & the Burning of the Lime & Workmanship and Building the Wall in a Workman Like manner According to the Order of the Surveyor Whom the Committee Shall Appoint, I will Build the same at 6^s/ per Each Cubical Yard.
