Committee Meeting held at Wallbrdge on Wednesday the 17th day of April 1946 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxham, G A Evans, R J C Little.
There being only three Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Stroud District Water Board: Water service pipe at Ryeford
There was nothing to report.
Sperry Gyroscope Company Ltd: Blockhouse and Swing Bridge at Stonehouse. The Clerk reported that M^r Blick of Stonehouse had informed him that he was unable to furnish an estimate for the removal of the Blockhouse, etc.
Blunder Lock. Damage by Enemy Action
The Clerk reported that he had written the Ministry of War Transport. There had been no reply.
Manager at Whitminster: M^r Rowbotham
M^r Rowbotham had paid the charges due.
Canal: Lodgemore Pound, Frome Hall Meadow, Messrs. Strachan & Co. Ltd
Messrs Strachan had not replied to the Company's letter.
Dudbridge Wharf. Premises, M^r L. Bassett
The Chairman read an application put in by M^r Bassett of Lock Cottage, Dudbridge to rent certain buildings at Dudbridge Wharf next the main road. After discussion the Committee directed that the Clerk interview M^r Bassett and to suggest a rent of ten shillings a week subject to an agreement being signed to be drawn up by the Company's Solicitors at his expense.
Stroud Brewery Coy. Ltd.; Purchase of about 35 square yards of garden ground next to the Brewery Company's premises at Wallbridge
The Chairman read a letter from the Company offering the Navigation the sum of £25 for the land and also to pay the sum of £20 to the occupier by way of compensation. The Committee directed the offer be accepted.
Canal Association: War Damage
The Chairman produced a circular sent by the the Association.
