May 14^th _6
Mr Fellows reports that your Captain of the Valiant G Carter did on the morning of the 5^th of May inst tie up his Barge at the Top Lock of the five Eastington in such a position to stop the trade which he did by stopping the Trow Florence which could not get down the Locks the same night, thereby giving great inconvenience. ½ (?) during he was there himself. open to a penalty of 10/- & 2/- per hour until removed. I hereby give notice that unless a fine of 10/- is paid within 14 days from this date a summons will be taken out & the full penalty & cost enforced. You are aware we have had trouble with this man before.
