Summary

Although the rains had interfered with progress made in the alteration of the locks, and especially in the mudding, the canal would be in full operation on 31 May.
Mr Jones’ thanks for £50. All workmen discharged, except two or three labourers.
During prolongation of stoppage important repairs done to sills and paddles. No great scarcity of water expected.
The stone trade had not turned out as expected.
