Sir You will much oblige us by handing the above acct to your Committee.
As the accident was entirely from a circumstance that we could not possibly foresee and over which we had not control, Viz the breaking of the wrought Iron screw Pins, We do not think you will attach any blame to us. neither do we suppose that you will allow us to be at a loss. We consider that the extra cast Column new fixed inside, will very greatly increase the strength of the Crane, bu if the wrought Iron which we purchased from the very best manufacturers has stood, the Crane would have been perfectly secure without any addition. We have above stated the exact Cost that we have been put to, and had trust the Committee will favor us with the amount.
