Unfortunately Canal had to be drawn off yesterday for repair of breach when the ill effects of the alteration at Arundells Mill were seriously felt by the water flowing out of the Mill pond into the Canal. The Company gave consent for the alteration on understanding and promise by proprietors of Arundells Mill that in event of the Trunk being rendered useless by the alteration an alternative would be immediately put in place below. Request proper steps are taken to enable Company to draw off water of Canal at that place.
