Draw attention to bill before Parliament for altering line and granting fresh powers to Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co. Clause to allow them to stop Stroudwater & consequently T&S Canal during certain period without making any recompense. The Bill requires watching as will affect trade on T&S Canal.
Messrs Whitworth & Atherton from Wilts & Berks Canal selling at Cirencester Forest of Dean Soft Coals at very reduced prices with very considerable trade at that Wharf. Ultimately no increase in tonnage but may annihilate use of Sodbury Coal which will be of considerable importance to Canal.
