Mr Martin has agreed to the use of his stable, he only to have the dung.
Posts are to be fixed into towing paths to prevent horses going upon it.
Richard Pavey’s quote for a waggon and a cart, both with 6in wheels accepted. Cart (£4) to be made in one month and waggon (£10) in two months.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 6^th Day February 1777
Present: Joseph Wathen, John Hollings, Robert Ellis, Thomas Baylis, Durley Wintle, William Knight, Ben^m Grazebrook, Fream Arundell.
Read the Minutes of the Last Meeting.
M^r Lingard Reported that he has treated with M^r Martin for his Stable, which he have consented to let the Company have it for the Dung.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do agree with M^r Rich^d Davis for a Load or two of Oak Posts and Ash Rails for fencing the Lands and Towing paths, and that some posts be imediately fix'd in the Towing paths to prevent Horses going upon it.
M^r Richard Davis attended the Committee and Offered to deliver Oak Timber, all prime sound Timber at Chippenham Splat at 20^d per foot. Ordered his proposal to lie for our consideration.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do waite on the Rev^d M^r Davis and inquire of him what he can Recollect of the Conversation that passes between the Rev^d M^r Stephens and M^r Grazebrooke concerning the Building a Bridge of Communication over the Canal, and if any particular place was fix'd upon to Erect the said Bridge.
Agreed with M^r Davis for M^r Stephens's Oak Tree if sound, to give him 20^d per Foot.
Richard Povey attended the Committee with his proposals for making a Waggon with Six Inch Wheels in every Respect like M^r Freebury's (Iron work excepted) for the Sum of £10. ~~ A Cart with 6 Inch Wheels £4, the Iron work for both at 3¼^d per Lb ~~ except the Caseing of the Axle Trees at 5^d per Lb.
Agreed with Richard Povey to make a Waggon and Cart on the above terms, the Cart to be made in one Month, and the Waggon in two Months.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 20^th Instant at four of the Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Sroud.
