At a General Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held this 3^d day of April 1777 in the George Inn in Stroud
William Knight in the Chair.
The Minutes of the Last Meeting were Read and confirmed.
The Several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by the Act of Parliament) and examined and Confirmed.
The Thanks of the Company given to the Treasurer for his good Services during the last year.
The Thanks of the Company were also given to the Committee of Directors for the Assidious endeavors in Carrying forward the Navigation.
Ordered that the Moneys Receive for Tonnage to the 1^st Instant amounting to the Sum of £215..14..6 be paid into the Treasurers Hands and applyed towards Compleating the Navigation.
Ordered that a Copy of the Abstract and General State of the Accounts be send to every Absent Proprietor Residing out of the County.
The Proprietors did in pursuance of a former Method prescribed for Regulating the Ballott for Choosing a Committee of Directors for the ensuing year Appoint M^r John Colborne and the Rev^d M^r Charles Page Inspectors and M^r W^m Wathen and M^r Jos: Grazebrook Screwtineers for the present Election, and the following Return was made by the Chairman:
William Knight, Durley Wintle, Joseph Wathen, Benjamin Grazebrook, James Winchcombe, Thomas White, Thomas Baylis, Richard Bigland, John Hollings, Timothy Lewis, Robert Ellis, Anthony Keck, Freame Arundell.
Ordered that an advertisement be inserted in the Glocester Journal for the Commissioners appointed by an Act of Parliament for making the Navigation from Framiload to Walbridge in the County of Glocester, to Meet at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 1^st of May next at three of the Clock in the afternoon.
