Summary

Mr Lewin to deliver scantlings for one lock as soon as possible.
Canal is open to the lock at Westfield.
Account of use of Lord Middleton’s land to show canal and towpath separately from banks tresspassed upon.
Mr Bough to go to William Price of Gloucester to give directions for proper scantlings for lock, and to Hanham to give proper directions for stone for locks, such stone to be scabbled.
Executors for Able Grey made claim to shares 156 & 157, to be transferred to John Colborne.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 1^st day of May 1777
Present: Joseph Wathen, Durley Wintle, Robert Ellis, Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, Benjamin Grazebrook, Thomas White, Richard Bigland.
Read the Minutes of the Last Meeting.
Edward Keene Reported that he had seen M^r Lewis, that he had agree'd to deliver Scantlings of TImber for one Lock by the 12^th of July, or sooner if he could at 1^s/6^d per foot.
M^r Lingard Reported that he had Levell'd and Sow'd the Banks of the Canal as far as it is finished, and that the Canal is Cleared and bottomed to the Lock at the Top of the West field.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do take an Account of Lord Middletons Land, to be produced at our next Meeting, the Account of the Canal and Towing path to be seperated from the Banks which have been tresspassed on.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do purchase another Horse to be added to our Team on the best terms he can.
Ordered that M^r Bough do go to M^r W^m Price Timber Merchant at Glocester, to see what State his Timber is in, and give the necessary directions to have the proper Scantling for the Lock to be forwarded.
Ordered that M^r Bough do go to Hanham and give the necessary directions to have proper Sotne delivered for the Locks without Loss of time, and to have none sent but such as are Scabbled and fitt for the purpose.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Four Hundred pounds.
John Smith, Thomas Burne, and Thomas Colborne Executors of Abel Grey made out their Claim to two Shares No, 156 & 157: and Exhibited a power of Attorney to Transfer the same to John Colborne Gen^t.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 15^th Instant at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
