Summary

Agreed with Ellis-James for him to have the gravel between the two brick yards. for £15. Any damage to be paid for by him by it’s removal.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the Geoge Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 21^st day of August 1777
Present: James Winchombe, Robert Ellis, Joseph Wathen, Freame Arundell, Thomas Baylis, Benjamin Grazebrook, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Grazebrook is desired to inform M^r Keck that part of the Scantlings M^r Price has sent for the Locks is bad Timber and cannot be put to its design'd Use. Requesting M^r Keck to View it and report the state to M^r Price, and to Order proper Scantlings in lieu of it.
Ordered that the measure of the Land and Timber belonging to Edmund Phillips Esq^r be sent to him; the Land at Thirty five years Purchas, and the Timber at Thirty Shillings per Ton.
M^r B: Grazebrook is requested to inform M^r James the Company expects that he will take to the Bank and the Mead as soon as it is Levelled, if they make the Towing Path next the Road.
Received proposals from Daniel Harrison of Uphill Somersetshire for Building a Sea Wall to secure the Framiload Lock. M^r Grazebrook is desired to inform him that it will not be carried into execution till the Spring, of which he shall have Notice.
A Complaint having been made by M^r Chambers that he hath been injured in the Court Orchard. ~~ It is Ordered that M^r Lingard do immediately have three Rails put at the Posts near the new House to be Lock'd up and the Key kept at the House. Also that Hurdles be put up from the said House to West Field Lock, and Oak posts and Railes for fencing between the West field and Court Orchard.
Agreed with M^r Hollowdays Phillips for his Land, etc, particulars of which are inserted in an Article properly Signed.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for Two Hundred Pounds.
M^r Keene Reported that he hath Contracted with Mess^rs Endall & Evans of Monmouth for Seventy Oak Trees to be delivered to the Banks of the Navigation at Two pounds Seventeen Shillings & Sixpence per Ton and Fifty Trees at Two pounds fifteen Shillings per Ton to be paid on delivery.
Agree'd with M^r Ellis James, for him to have the Gravel between the two Brick Yards for fifteen Pounds, M^r James to be at the expence of any Damage occasioned by its removal.
Ordered that Tho^s Carter be paid Two pounds and five Shillings, which appears to us to be the whole of a just Demand.
Ordered that a Call of Ten per Cent be made on the Proprietors of this Navigation to be inserted in the next Glocester Journal. to be paid on or before the 1^st November next.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 18^th Instant at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
