Benjamin Pashley to be given charge of Framilode Lock in place of his father.
Christopher Gardener demands tythes for the parish of Stonehouse and Easington
Gutter to be cut for puddling.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 11^th day of September 1777
Present: James Winchcombe, Durley Wintle, Joseph Wathen, John Hollings, William Knight, Freame Arundell, Robert Ellis, Benjamin Grazebrook, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the Last Meeting.
Ordered that M^r King be applyed to by Jos: Grazebrook to know his Charge for the water of Wheatenhurst Mill per Day, while the Mill pond, etc, is Cleared.
M^r Grazebrook is desired to inform M^r Keen that unless the Board of Rules be finished in a fortnight, the Committee will not take them.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do purchase of M^r Davis, Stakes & posts for the Fencing, and that the works may be Mounded as soon as possible.
Jos: Grazebrook is Ordered to desire M^r Colborne to write to M^r Price, as mentioned in the last Meeting.
Benj^n Pashley having behaved himself agreeable to the Committee, is appointed to Succeed his Father in the making of the Lock Gates till further Orders, and that he is ordered by our Clrek to attend our next Meeting ~~ in the mean time he is to have Charge of the Framiload Lock.
Letters having been received this Meeting from M^r Christopher Gardner respecting the Purchase of the Banks on M^rs Balls Estate, and also to demand Tythes for the Parish of Stonehouse and Eastington. Mess^rs Knight, Ellis, Wathen, Arundell, & Grazebrook be desired to Meet him at M^r Thomas Whites, to here his proposals, and to settle with him, if can be done prudently.
M^r Grazebrook is desired to Apply to Gabriel Harris Esq^r for his Land the Canal will be cutt thro', and to know the price of his whole Ground.
M^r White is also desired to treat with Daniel Smith Esq^r for the remainder of his Land we Cut thro'.
Ordered that a Gutter of Puddling be cut thro' the Lands already agree'd for, for the Benefit of the Navigation.
The Lands belonging to Edmund Phillips Esq^r to be surveyed at our next Meeting and Settled by payment or Exchange.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 18^th Instant at Nine o Clock in the Morning at Stonehouse, and from thence to the George Inn in Stroud in the Evening.
