At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 25^th day of September 1777
Present: Joseph Wathen, Freame Arundell, William Knight, Robert Ellis, John Hollings, Durley Wintle, Thomas White, Benjamin Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Ordered that Jos: Grazebrook do apply to some Carpenter to make the Board of Rules as soon as possible.
The Stakes and railes are putting up. ~~ Ordered that M^r Lingard do see that it is compleated.
M^r Price has promised to deliver a Quantity of TImber in a fortnight.
M^r Ben^n Pashley agrees to execute the Carpenters work on the Locks, on the same terms that his Father did. ~~~ And that an Article of agreement be drawn this day fortnight, to be signed by the said John Pashley.
Agree'd with the Rev^d M^r Pettat for his Glebe Land in Beddersfield for the Annual Rent of Twenty Shillings.
Agree'd with the Rev^d M^r Davis for his Land at the Rate of Fifty nine pounds Ten Shillings per Acre.
M^r Grazebrook has not Yet been able to get an account of the Rent of M^r Reddals Orchard near the Turnpike at Haywards Field.
Ordered that a Dam or Stank be made near Chippenhams Platt, to receive the Land flood, so as to prevent the soil of mud from running into the Canal.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do inquire when M^r Reddal will be at Stonehouse, that he may be waited upon to treat with him for his Land.
Ordered that M^r Bough be paid the Sum of Twenty four pounds for his plans and Surveying the work.
Ordered that Mess^rs Lane & Jepson be desired to give a general retainer to M^r Bearcroft & M^r Kennion on the behalf of the Proprietors in all Causes and matters relative to the Navigation.
Ordered that a Tender of a Sum of Money be Offered to Sam^l Apperley and Farmer Clark, for the Damages done to the land they Occupy by Brickmakiing, Banks, etc.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the sum on Two Hundred Pounds.
Adjourned this Meeting to Wednesday the 1^st October next at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
