Method of making the canal pass Ebley Mill viz: To pass over the through water by an aquaduct and fill up the present flood pill and continue the canal through the mill pond.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the Golden Cross at Cainscross on Wednesday 22^d Day of April 1778
Present: John Hollings, Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, John Allaway, Robert Ellis, Benjamin Grazebrook, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Kings Account of Damages deffer'd till we have an interview with him.
Nothing Yet Settled relative to Stonehouse Church Yard.
M^r Chances Land has been measured and a Tender made for the same amounting to the Sum of Four Hundred & Forty Eight pound Seven Shillings & two pence which he refused.
Nothing Yet Settled relative to M^r Webbs Land, the Conveyances not being prepared. ~~ Ordered that Mess^rs Ellis and Grazebrook be desired to apply to M^r Webb to Settle with him relative to an exchange of Lands.
The Team is carrying the Bricks from Wallbridge to Ryeford.
M^r Lane recommends that M^r Daniel Chance Jun^o Jointly with his Father be made a party in the Conveyance, or Receipt, for the moneys to be paid for the purchase of the Lands.
M^r Wathen has wrote to Geo: Augustus Selwin Esq^r but no answer yet Received.
M^r Baylis has wrote to M^r Kemmett, but no answer yet Rece^d.
Ordered that John Gleave do see that the Trunkcs and every necessary article be immediately provided and laid, for conveying the water from Ryeford to Stonehouse.
Ordered that the Method of making the Canal to pass Ebley Mill, be in the following manner viz; to pass over the through water by an Aqueduct, and to fill up the present Flood pill, and continue the Canal thro' the Mill Pond.
Ordered that M^r Bough do immediately provide materials, and turn the Culverts at Ryeford ~~ and also the Culvert at Lodmore.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 30^th Instant at Ten o Clock in the forenoon at the Golden Cross at Cainscross.
