At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Monday the 11^th day of May 1778
Present: Joseph Wathen, John Hollings, Robert Ellis, John Allaway, Thomas Bayliss, Thomas White,
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Kings Account of Damages could not be obtained, he being in London.
Nothing Yett Settled relative to Stonehouse Church Yard.
M^r Chance Sen^o and Jun^o had been waited upon, and Three Hundred pounds paid them on account for their Lands, and have executed a proper Receipt for the same.
John Gleave Reported that he have made the Drain in M^r Andrews Land, and turned the water thro' it.
Ordered that John Gleave do enlarge the Drain on the side of the Turnpike Road, to the size of Eighteen Inches Diameter, in order to take a larger supply of water; under the direction of M^r Bough.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the sum of Seven Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that our Clerk do purchase a Small Boat, of the Burthen of about one Ton, for the use of Farmer Coaley, for a passage to his Land, and that a convenient place be made on the side of the Canal for the reception of the said Boat.
Ordered that John Gleaves do see the Canal in M^r Cooks Land, be cleared of the Stakes and Timber.
Ordered that M^r Colborne be desired to forward the Conveyance of M^r Stephens's Land as soon as possible.
Ordered that M^r White be desired to apply to M^r Gardner to forward the Conveyance of M^r Chances Land as soon as possible.
Ordered that M^r Tho^s Frewin be paid the Sum of Thirty Eight pounds Seventeen Shillings, and that he is hereby Discharged from the Companys Service.
Ordered that M^r Bough do lay the Foundations of M^r Hallidays Bridge with the Bricks from Geo. Maskells works.
Ordered that M^r Edward Keene do immediately proceed to make a Trunk with Elm Timber in order to Convey the Painswick water under the Canal, agreeable to M^r Boughs Directions.
Ordered that M^r Bough do employ Clement Atkins to see the Lime Stones weighed, which are now brought up by Samuel Simmonds.
Adjourned the Meeting to Thursday the 21^St Instant at 5 o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
