Summary

A carpenter is to make a gate and rails to be put up on the lower side of Mr Hill’s bridge, as directed by Farmer King, without intruding on Rack Hill (Wallbridge).
The roads on the tops of bridges are to be raised with stone and gravel in order to secure the crowns of the arches.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 26^th Day of May 1778
Present: Joseph Wathen, Fream Arundell, John Hollings, Thomas White, Thomas Baylis, John Allaway
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r King has promised to give in his Account of Damages as soon as it can be ascertained.
Nothing Yett Settled relative to Stonehouse Church Yard.
Our Clerk Reported that he has waited on M^r Stephens with a Rough Draft of his Conveyance of the Land in the Canal, and that he has promised to look it over, and to return it in a few days with his answer.
Jn^o Gleave has begun to have the Supperfluous Earth & Gravell in M^r Reddalls Lands, Wheel'd over the Brook as directed. ~~ Ordered that he do continue the same till the whole is Compleat.
Ordered that M^r Chances Elm & Ash Timber be measured and paid for as soon as possible.
Ordered that John Gleave do employ our Carpenter to make a Gate and Railes, to be put up on the lower side of M^r Hills Bridge, as shall be directed by Farmer King, without intruding on M^r Hills Rack Hill.
Ordered that Jn^o Gleave do see that M^r Beswick do Levell and well Soil all the Banks agreeable to his Contract ~~ and that John Gleave do sett a man to Clear the weeds and Thistles from the other Banks on the lower part of the work,
Adjourned the Meeting to Tuesday the 9^th day of June next at Three o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
