Rev Pettat expects to be paid £35 for his Glebeland. Company will comply if taxes are avoided.
Clement Adkins ordered to throw water over the stacks of bricks in the several yards to dissolve the limestone in the bricks.
Benjamin Grazebrook be desired to superintend the works of the Navigation till completed and a salary allowed him.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 25^th day of June 1778

No account of M^r Kings Damages Yet Received.
Our Clerk Reported that he has informed M^r Christopher Gardner that we are ready to purchase the Banks and Brick Yards of M^rs Ball, in Consequence of which, M^r Gardner has delivered in a Rough Draft of the Conveyance of M^rs Balls Land. ~~~ Resolved that a Letter be imediately wrote from this Committee informing M^r Gardner that there are several matters in the s^d Conveyance which are not mentioned in the Agreement, and which we cannot by any means Comply with, but that we are ready to Comply with the Conveyance when drawn Confromable to the agreement, or to pay Damages.
Our Clerk Reported that M^r Cook expects that the Committee will Build a Wall on the sides of the Canal, where it crosses his Court. Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r Cook that as there was no promise or agreement for doing it, that we can by no means Comply with it.
Our Clerk Reported that the Rev^d M^r Pettat expects to be paid £35 for his Glebe Land, and that he refuses taking a Depositt for the Church Yard, wishing to have it finally Settled, together with his Tythes. ~~ Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r Pettat that if he will indemnify the Company from Taxes that we will give him the £35 for the said Glebe Land.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that John Gleave do see that the Brick Yard on the lower side of the Canal on M^rs Balls Land be cleared of the Rubbish.
Ordered that Clement Adkins do (with the Assitance of a Labour) throw a Quantity of water on the several Stacks of Bricks in the several yards, in order to disolve the Lime Stone in the Bricks before they are made use of, and that the said Bricks be retaled when they are taken away.
Ordered the M^r B: Grazebrook be desired to Superintend the Works of the Navigation till Completed, and that a Sallary be allowed him for the same, to be fixed at a future Meeting.
Ordered that M^r Chances Bill for Timber amounting to the Sum of £12..7..6 be imediately discharged.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 29^th Instant ~~ at 5 o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
