The penalty paid by Mr Hook is be returned in consequence of John Hawker’s promise to pay all damages and expenses. Bill to be raised.
As soon as the canal is completed the towing path through Mrs and Mr Ball’s land to be fenced and cattle watering places be provided.
Ben Grazebrook to be paid £200 for directing and surveying all the works of the Navigation till completed and the quay finished at Wallbridge.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 9^th day of July 1778

No Account of M^r Kings Damages Yet Received.
Ordered that the Penalty paid by M^r Cook be returned to him, in consequence of M^r John Hawkers Promise to pay all Damages and expences attending to the levying of said Penalty. ~~ Ordered that our Clerk do make out a Bill of the Damages and all expenses, including the Meeting of the Committee and the Workmen attending thereon, to be delivered at our next Meeting.
Ordered that Mess^rs Endell & Evans Bill for Timber amounting to the Sum of £235..2..7 be imediately Discharged.
Rece'd a notice from M^rs and M^r Ball to fence the Towing Path and Brick Yards, and also to make watering places for the Cattle. Ordered that as soon as the Canal is completed that the Towing Path thro' their Lands be fenced, and that the necessary watering places be imediately made in the several Grounds.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do pay M^r James the Ballance due to him for his Land, as soon as the Treasurer has Cash, and that M^r James be informed of this order.
Ordered that M^r Ben: Grazebrook be paid the Sum of Two hundred Pounds for directing and Surveying all the Works of he Navigation till Completed and the Quay finished at Wallbridge.
Ordered that our Clerk do waite o M^r Lane to desire he will apply to the Bishop for leave to finish the Canal thro' Stonehouse Church Yard, and also t advise with M^r Lane relative to the Conveyance for the Glebe Land in Burry Field.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Six Hundred Pounds.
Adjourned this Meeting to Tuesday the 21^st Instant at 4 o Clock at the George Inn in Stroud.
