Ben Grazebrook to inspect the drain that runs under Mr Phillips house at Ryeford and if necessary to continue the same under the canal.
Ben Grazebrook to begin bottoming in Mr Cambridge’s millpond.
John Gleave’s wages to be increased to 1 guinea a week.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 8^th day of October 1778
Present: James Winchcombe, Thomas Hayes, Joseph Wathen, Freame Arundell, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis, Richard Bigland, Ben^m Grazebrook, John Allaway.

M^r Martins Damages not Yett Settled. Ordered that it be Settled as soon as Possible.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do inspect the Drain that runs under M^r Phillip's House at Ryeford, and if necessary, to Continue the same under the Canal.
M^r B: Grazebrook reported that he had waited on the occupiers of the arable Land in Haywards field adjoining to the Canal, and they are willing to lett any part of it as a Wharf at Thirty Shillings per acre per annum.
M^r B: Grazebrook produced and account of the Money Tendered to M^rs Ball for her Land amounting to the Sum of £151..11 being the Ballance for all Land taken in the Canal and Towing Path. ~~ Ordered that M^r Lane be informed of the same being Tendered before Francis Unsley as Evidence, and the time when.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do make the necessary preparations to begin bottoming M^r Cambridges Mill Pond on Monday the 18^th Instant, if Weather permitt.
Ordered that John Gleaves Wages be advanced to One Guinea per Week from this teim, with a further gratuity at the finishing the Work as shall be thought requisite by the Committee.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 22^d Instant at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
