Not necessary to continue the drain at Ryeford under the canal.
John Couch’s bill for stone not to be settled until the hollow and square quions conform to the specification given in the bill of scantlings.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 22^d Day of October 1778
Present: Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, James Winchcombe, Thomas White, William Knight, James Allaway, John Hollings, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Martins Damages amounting to the Sum of £21..10 is Settled and Paid.
M^r Grazebrook has examined the Drain at M^r Phillips House at Ryeford and find it not necessary to convey the same under the Canal.
M^r Lane is not yet informed of the Tender being made to M^rs Ball for her Land. Order that M^r Grazebrook inform him of the same the first Opportunity.
Ordered that none of the Coping on the several Locks near Chippenhams Platt be measured untill all the Stones that are under the size specified in the Bill of Scantlings be taken u and replaced with proper ones.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Read a Letter from M^r John Couch requesting a Remittance on Acc^t for Stone. Ordered that our Clerk do inform him that a great part of the Coping as well as some of the Hollow Quoins and Square Quoins have not been Conformable to the Bill of Scantlings, and that as soon as he Conforms with the s^d Bill of Scantlings his request shall be imediately comply'd with.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 5^th Day of November next at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
