Company’s vessel sent to Hanham for worked stone but that Mr Couch refused to send Hollow Quoins, Square Quoins or trunking until he is paid. The vessel came back loaded with limestone.
A call of £10 on each share be made on the Proprietors to be paid before 12 January 1779.
A lock to be put on the gate of the lock at Bristol Road to prevent more coals being brought up.
The brick lock at Dudbridge to be finished or covered up for winter.
An account of the number of cutters employed in the work be produced and what proportion of them are employed below Ryeford
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 5^th day of November 1778
Present: Joseph Wathen, Freame Arundell, James Winchcombe, Ben^m Grazebrook, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Grazebrook has informed M^r Lane of the Tender being made to M^rs Ball for her Land. ~~ Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r Lane that never any Tender has been made to M^r Gardner of the residue of the Money due to M^rs Ball for the said Land; Ordered that our Clerk do desire M^r Lane to apply to M^r Gardner for an Abstract of the Title of M^rs Balls Land in order that the Conveyances may be drawn.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that the Companys Vessell has been sent to Hanham fro Work'd Stone, but that M^r Couch refused sending any Hollow Quoins, Square Quoins, or Trunking untill he has a remittance for the same; in consequence of which they were of necessity of Lading the Vessell with Lime Stone.
Ordered that a Call of Ten Pounds on each Share be made on the Proprietors of the Navigation and that the same be advertised in the next Gloucester Journal to be paid on or before the 12^th Day of January next.
Ordered a Bill be drawn on the Treasurer of the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that our Clerk do waite on M^r Lane to inquire if it is not necessary to have M^r Tho^s Ellis's Title of the Barn Orchard annexed with the present Conveyance.
Ordered that the whole Account of Stone & Brick work done by Mess^rs Bough & Edge be produced as soon as possible.
Ordered that the Brickmakers Acc^t be produced at our next Meeting.
Ordered that a Lock be imediately put on the Gate of the Lock at Bristol Road, in order to prevent any more Coals being brought up.
Ordered that the Brick Lock at Dudbridge be finished by the next Meeting, otherwise to be covered up during the Winter.
Ordered that M^r King be apply'd to for his Charge for stoping the Mill during the Clearing out the Mill Pond.
Ordered that an Acc^t of the Number of Cutters employed in the Work be produced at our next Meeting, & what proportion of them are employed below the Ryeford.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 12^th Instant at four o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
