At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 26^th Day of November 1778
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, James Winchcombe, Freame Arundell, John Hollings, Thomas White, John Allaway, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Ordered that the whole account of Stone and Brick work done by Mess^rs Bough and Edge be produced as soon as possible.
Geo: Edwards's Brickmaking Acc^t is this Day Settled and the Ballance paid him in full.
No Acc^t Yett Rece'd from M^r Kings for stoping his Mill.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that M^r Powell has View'd the Land at Whitmister damaged by turning the Water, and that he will in a short time give in Writing his Opinion of the Value of the s^d Damage.
M^r Grazebrook also Reported that he has apply'd to M^r King for a sight of the Copy of a Letter to Lord Middleton on the Subject of the Bridges, but that M^r King cannot find the said Copy, nor his Lordship's answer, but that he recollected a Promise being made of a Bridge, adjoining to the Bristol Road Bridge, and the Consequence of which promise, a foundation was accordingly Built.
Ordered that Mess^rs White, Allaway and Grazebrook be desired to waite on M^r Reddall to Morrow Morning in order to take a View of the Banks and Damages.
Ordered that our Clerk do send M^r Lane a Copy of the agreement with M^r Gardner on behalf of M^rs Ball.
Ordered that the Walls of the Bridge at Dudbridge be covered with Turfs during the Winter.
Ordered that a Bill be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Four Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that Edward Keene do have Notice to finish the Swivell Bridges at M^r Cooks & M^r Hallidays, in the Course of next week, or otherwise he will not be employed any more in the Works.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 10^th day of December next at 4 o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
