Summary

The old river at Wallbridge is to be marked out straight from the wall at the corner of Mr Smith’s house to the lower end of Mr Elliots Garden.
The Navigation be opened on Wednesday 21 July instead of the 22 July.
The Company’s barge and boats be cleaned and fitted up ready for the day of opening the canal.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 1^st day of July 1779
Present: Joseph Wathen, James Dallaway, Fream Arundell, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis, Ben^m Grazebrook, Richard Bigland.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
The Order Continued relative to M^r Chances Posts and Railes.
Ordered that the Old River at Walbridge be mark'd out straight from the Wall at the Corner of M^r Smiths House to the lower end of M^r Elliotts Garden, and that M^r Wathen be desired to write to M^r Loyde to inform him that we shall have occasion for a small Bitt of Land at the Bottom of the Garden, and request his immediate answer. And that the Land be imediately measured and the Men proceed to work in M^r Playnes Garden.
M^r Playne having made an Application to have the Rent fixed of a Piece of Land late M^r Chances, Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do inform him that the Committee will leave it to himself to settle the same.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do settle with M^r Biggs for the Damage done in the Land Rented by him of M^r Jennings.
Ordered that the Navigation be opened on Wednesday the 21^st Instant instead of the 22^d as settled at a former Meeting.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that the Companys Barge and Boats be Cleaned and fitted up ready for the Day of opening the Canal.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Thursday the 8^th Instant at Nine o Clock in the Morning at the George Inn in Stroud.
