A barge stopped at Thomas Pearce’s property for non-payment of tonnage for coals brought up the canal is to stay in the canal until the tonnage is paid.
The brick yard at Stonehouse to be sown with proper seed.
A open ditch to be dug at the foot of the bank on the upper side of the canal through Mr Cook’s land to drain it.
Materials needed to build a foot bridge on Mr Chance’s land to be taken to the spot.
John Gleave to be discharged next Saturday.
The wharf at Wallbridge where bricks were made is to be levelled.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 30^th of March 1780
Present: Thomas Baylis, John Allaway, John Hollings Ben^m Grazebrook, James Dallaway, Thomas White.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
The Committee have not Yett Staked out M^r Butchers Land.
Our Clerk have waited on M^r Chance and Compared the admeasurement of his Land which is found right.
The Wear in the Island at Easton is near finished.
The Mound in the Orchard late Kemmetts is finished.
The Hedge adjoining the Road at Eason is Cutt.
Our Clerk Reported that he has wrote to M^r Hillhouse agreeable to the Order at the last Meeting.
The Stile is put up on M^r Reddalls Land and the Withy Setts are Planted in Conformity to the Order of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that he have Stop'd a Barge the Property of Tho^s Pearce for nonpayment of Tonnage for Coals brought up the Canal in the said Barge. Ordered that the same be not Permitted to go out of the Canal till the s^d Tonnage is Paid.
Ordered that the Brick Yard at Stonehouse be immediately Sown with proper Seeds.
Ordered that an Open ditch be dug at the Foot of the Bank on the upper side of the Canal thro' M^r Cooks Lands in order to drain the same.
Ordered that the Materials Necessary for erecting the Foot Bridge on M^r Chances Lands be immediately prepared and taken to the Spott.
Ordered that John Gleaves Wages be paid him up to Saturday next, and that he be discharged.
Ordered that the Wharf at Wallbridge were the Bricks was made next the Canal be immediately Levelled.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 11^th of April next at Ten o Clock in the forenoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
