General Meeting
Money from tonnage, £1,085 11s 7d, to be used to pay outstanding debts. The first £400 to be paid off with interest.
Mr John Beswick make good leakages and damages by puddling properly.
Thomas Pearse to settle his tonnage account immediately or he will be proceeded against.
New committee elected: Anthony Keck no longer a member.
2d per ton wharfage be taken for all coals, goods and mechandise, which shall be landed on any wharf belonging to the Company over and above the tonnage rates.
Wharf on north side of canal from crane to the lower end of the quay be let to Joseph Grazebrook for one year for the tonnage of coal landed there.
Mr Hillhouse’s revised bill for the Pleasure barge amounting to £94 13s 0d is to be discharged on his putting the barge in thorough repair.
Mr Anthony Keck is to be told that the Double Lock has become ruinous and is obstructing the Navigation and is dangerous to the passage of vessels. It must be repaired immediately. If he refuses then he will be sued.
At a General half yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held this 13^th Day of April 1780 at the George Inn in the Town of Stroud

The Minutes of the last Meeting were Read and Confrim'd.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by the Act of Parliament) and examined and Confirm'd.
Ordered that the Money Rece'd for Tonnage from the 14^th of October last to this day amounting to the Sum of One Thousand and Eighty five Pounds Eleven Shillings and Seven pence be paid into the Treasurers hands and apply'd towards payment of the respective Debts.
Ordered that the first Four Hundred Pounds borrow'd for Compleating the Navigation be immediately paid with the Interest due thereon.
Ordered that M^r John Beswick be inform'd that there is Leakages and Damages still subsisting, which he is desired to have immediately repaired by properly Puddling the same, or authorise some other Person to do it, that he may be paid the Ballance due to him.
Ordered that M^r John Couch be inform'd the reason why his Acc^t is not Settled.
Ordered that our Clerk do apply to M^r Tho^s Pearce to Settle his Acc^t for Tonnage due to the Company, or that he will be proceeded against immediately.
The Proprietors did in pursuance of a former method prescribed for Regulating the Ballott for Chusing a Committee for the ensuing Year, Appoint M^r John Colborne and M^r Thomas Arundell Inspectors, and M^r William Wathen and Joseph Grazebrook Screwtineers for the present Election and the following return was made by the Chairman:
WIlliam Knight, Thomas White, James Dallaway, Richard Bigland, John Hollings, John Allaway, Joseph Wathen, Fream Arundell, Thomas Baylis, James Winchcombe, Benjamin Grazebrook, Nathaniel Jones, Thomas Hayes.
Ordered that two Pence per Ton Wharfage be taken for all Coals, Goods, Wares and Merchandise which shall be Landed on any Wharf belonging to the Company, over and above the Tonnage Rates appointed to be taken for the same.
Ordered that the Wharf on the North side of the Canal at Wallbridge extending from the Crane to the lower end of the Quay Wall, or as farr as the Coals are now landed, be lett to Jon: Grazebrook for the term of one year from this day, in consideration of two Pence per Ton being paid for all Coals that may in future be landed on the said Land.
Ordered that M^r Hillhouse's Bill for the Pleasure Barge amounting to the Sum of Ninety four pounds thirteen Shillings be discharged; on his putting the said Barge in thorough Repair.
Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r Anthony Keck that the Double Lock is become Ruinous, Obstructs the Navigation and is Dangerous to the Passage of Vessells. We therefore desire that he will immediately proceed to Repair the same.
Ordered that in case M^r Keck do Neglec or refuse to Repair the said Lock, that the Committee do then apply to Mess^rs Lane and Jepson to desire them to inform him that he will be sued for Damages if the same is not speedily Repaired.
Ordered that the Committee be empowered to treat with M^r Elliott for an acknowledgment for the Bridge he has erected leading to the Wharf, and likewise of the land below the Wharf.
