Summary

Some of the stone dug out of the canal is to be burnt for lime to be used only in the back walls of the locks and to make sure that it is not used for any other purpose.
Balance of Benjamin Pashley’s account to be paid.
If the treasurer is unable to supply the clerk with £150 for expenses he is to apply to the Bank for a loan.
Mr Hillhouses’s bill for the pleasure barge to be discharged.
Nathaniel Winchcombe given permission to make a recess for a small pleasure boat on the back side of the company’s boat house.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 1^st August 1780
Present: Thomas Hayes, John Hollings, Joseph Wathen, James Dallaway, Fream Arundell, Thomas Baylis, Thomas White, Ben^m Grazebrook, Richard Bigland.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order relative to M^r Butchers Land.
The Wall for enclosing the Wharf at Wallbridge to be reconsidered at a future Meeting.
Continued the Ordere relative to halling Earth for the Road at Ryford.
Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r Chance that We think the Damages occasioned by his Cutting down the Timber Trees on the Premises sold by him to the Company is more than a full equivalent for the Apple Trees in Dedmarlin charged in M^r Chances Account. Also to sett against his Account the Extra Charge in making the Bank through Dedmarlin. Likewise that our Clerk do desire M^r Chance to give a particular Account of the Taxes Paid to Stonehouse for Dudbridge Wharf, etc.
Ordered that some of the Stone Dug out of the Canal be immediately burnt for Lime, to be used only in the back Walls of the Locks, And that our Clerk and W^m Frankin do take care that the said Lime be made use off for no other purpose.
Ordered that our Clerk do procure some Terras for setting the Hollow Quoins of the Locks which are now repairing.
On Examining M^r B: Pashleys Account it appears that a balance of £91:7:10 is due to him. Ordered that the same be paid him when in Cash. Exclusive of a Bill now delivered amounting to £7:5:6 which remains to be examined.
Ordered that our Clerk do make Application to our Treasurer to know if it is Convenient to him to advance £150 for present Occasions; And if not convenient to M^r Colborned that our Clerk do then apply to the Gentlemen of the Bank for the above Sum.
Ordered that M^r Hillhouses Bill for the Pleasure Barge amounting to the Sum of £94:13 be imediately Discharged.
M^r Natha^l Winchcombe hath leave to make a Recess for a small Pleasure Boat on the back side of the Companys Boat house.
Ordered that Mess^rs Hollings, Dallaway, Baylis, Arundell and Grazebrook be desired to waite on M^r W^m Halliday to settle with him relative to the Road leading to the Bridge.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Thursday the 17^th Instant at two o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
