Summary

General Meeting
Money received from the tonnage since 13 April is £324 5s 9½d to be used to repay debts.
Anthony Keck sent bill of £132 17s 8 1/2 d for the repair of the failure of the Double Lock, which bill is entirely rejected and the Company is to abide by the decision of the 7 July last.
3s 6d per ton is to be taken for all coals imported to Wallbridge, and so in proportion for any less distance, over and above the 2d per ton wharfage for all coals which may be landed on any of the Company’s wharf.
For the encouragement of bringing coals to the head of the canal, it is resolved that a bounty of 3d per ton be paid by our clerk for all coals landed on the wharf at Wallbridge and that a further bounty of 1s per ton be paid for all coals, which shall be carried more than ten mules distant.
1s 6d per ton tonnage is to be taken for all copper which shall be imported to Wallbridge.
Any barge passing a lock on Sunday, before sunrise or after sunset to be liable to pay a forfiet of £5.
The bounty on coals carried more than 10 miles extends only to coals carried from Wallbridge and Dudbridge wharfs.
The barge of Thomas Pearce detained for non-payment of tonnage is to be sold on 16 November.

At a General half yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held on the 26^th day of October at the George Inn in the Town of Stroud.
Joseph Wathen in the Chair.
The Minutes of the last half yearly Meeting were Read and Confirm'd.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by Act of Parliament) and examined and Confirm'd.
Ordered that the Money Reced for Tonnage from the 13^th of April last to this day amounting to the Sum of Three hundred & Twenty four Pounds five Shillings & Nine Pence halfpenny be paid into the Treasurers hands and apply'd towards payment of the respective Debts.
Read a Letter from M^r Anthony Keck enclosing a Bill amounting to the sum of £139..17..8½ for the Repair of the Failure of the Double Lock which Bill was entirely rejected And it is unaminously agreed to abide by the Resolution of the General Meeting held on the 7^th day of July last.
Ordered that Three Shillings & Sixpence per Ton be taken for all Coals Imported to Wallbridge from this time and so in proportion for any less distance of Place; over and above the two pence per Ton Wharfage for all Coals which may be Landed on any of the Companys Wharfs.
For the encouragement of bringing up Coals to the head of the Canal, It is hereby Resolved that a bounty of Three pence per Ton be paid by our Clerk for all Coals landed on the Wharf at Wallbridge And that a further Bounty of Once Shilling per Ton be paid for all Coals which shall be carried more than Ten Miles distant agreeable to the Resolution of the General Meeting held on the 14^th day of October 1779.
Ordered that One Shilling & Sixpence per Ton Tonnage be taken for all Copper (only) which shall be imported to Wallbridge.
Whereas at a Meeting of the Committee held on the 24^th Instant it was Ordered that no Vessell be permitted to pass any of the Locks on Sundays nor on any other Days before Sun rise or after Sun sett and not exceeding half an hour after Sun sett on any emergency whatsoever, We do hereby Confirm such Order And Resolve that all Barge Men and others offending against this our Resolution shall for every such Offence Forfeit and Pay the Sum of Five Pounds to be levied as the Act directs And We do further Order that a Duplicate of our Resolution be made out and Signed with our Seal and Recorded among our Proceedings for making Compleating supporting and maintaining the Stroudwater Navigation.
Resolved that for the better explaining the Order made at a General Meeting [see page 290] held on the 14^th October 1779 relative to the Bounty of one Shilling per Ton allow'd on Coald carried more than Ten Miles distant, That the said Bounty be Construed to extend only to all Coals carried from Wallbridge and Dudbridge Wharfs.
Ordered that the Barge of Thomas Pearce detained for Nonpayment of Tonnage be advertised on Monday next to be absolutely Sold on Thursday the 16^th of November next at 4 o'clock at the George Inn in Stroud providing the same is not redeemed previous to the day of the Sale.
