Committee can make William Wakefield an allowance in the rent of the house and warehouse at Wallbridge as it appears he took it at too high a rent.
William Franklin be paid £26 4s 0d over the sum in his contract for building the lock and bridge at Dudbridge as the lock is higher and thicker than his contract. Also, he should be paid £9 9s for surveying and making plans and sections of the Double lock and for his attendance during the late trial at Gloucester.
1s 6d per ton be taken for all iron, tin, brass and lead that is imported to Wallbridge, and in proportion for any less distance.
In consequence of the late trial at Gloucester with Mr Anthony Keck, it has appeared that the said lock is not built agreeable to the plan and module. William Franklin and Edward Keene are to make a survey and prepare an estimate of taking down the said lock and rebuilding according to the said plan and module. Also that they do prepare another estimate for building the lock in a proper firm and substantial manner.
A survey is to be made and a level taken for a canal from Dudbridge to Cricklade. The Company to pay for the expense as long as it did not exceed £50.
A bounty of 1s per ton be paid by our clerk for all the coals taken from Wallbridge Wharf to Springs Mill and Stonebridge in the parish of Painswick and also for all coals taken beyond either of the said places.

At a General Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held this 12^th day of April 1781 at the Swan Inn in the Town of Stroud
Joseph Wathen Esq^r in the Chair.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were Read and Confirm'd.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by the Act of Parliament) and Examined and Confirmed.
Ordered that the Money Rece'd for Tonnage from the 26^th of October last to this day amounting to the Sum of One Thousand One Hundred and Fifty one Pounds Sixteen Shillings and one Penny be paid into the Treasurers hands and apply'd towards the payment of the Respective Debts.
Resolved that the following Persons to Constitute a Committ for the ensuing year:
William Knight, Thomas White, James Dallaway, Richard Bigland, John Hollings, John Allaway, Joseph Wathen, William Battersby, Thomas Baylis, Nathaniel Jones, Ben^m Grazebrook, Thomas Hayes, Fream Arundell.
We do hereby Authorise and empower the Committee to treat with Jonathan Lawrence for a Piece of Land at Dudbridge for a Timber Yard and to Absolutely let him a Piece of Ground for any term of years that they at their discretion shall see fit at a present fine and proportioned Rent of an Absolute Rent And to make use of the Seal of the Company for that purpose. And in case the said Jonathan Lawrence shall decline taking the said Land, the Committee is hereby empowered to lett the same to any other Person.
We do hereby empower the Committee to make W^m Wakefield an allowance in the Rent of the House and Warehouse at Wallbridge it having appeared that he hath taken the same at too high a Rent.
Ordered that William Franklin be paid the Sum of Twenty Six Pound four Shillings over and above the Sum Specified in his Contract for Building the Lock and Bridge at Dudbridge, it having appeared that the Walls of said Lock is not only higher but Thicker than his Contract. Also that he be paid a further Sum of Nine Pounds Nine Shillings for Surveying and making Plan Sections, etc, of the Double Lock and for his attendance during the late Tryal at Glocester.
Ordered that One Shilling and Sixpence per Ton Tonnage be taken for all Iron, Tin, Brass and Lead that may be Imported to Wallbridge and so in proportion for any less distance of Place.
In Consequence of the late Tryal at Glocester with M^r Anthony Keck relative to the Double Lock it has appeared that the said Lock is not Built agreeable to the Plan and Module. Ordered that William Franklin and Edward Keen do make a Survey and prepare an Estimate for taking down said Lock and Rebuilding the same agreeable to said Plan and Module. Also that they do prepare another Estimate for Building the said Lock in a proper form and Substantial manner on such Principals as they can Warrant will answer the purpose. And We do hereby empower the Committee to settle this Business with M^r Keck by Submitting the same to Refference or otherwise as their directions shall see fitt.
We do hereby empower the Committee to treat with and agree with any Person or Persons for the Sale of Pool Field Corner, Partridges Ground, and Spencehill or either of them and to make use of the Seal of the Company for that purpose.
Ordered that a Survey be made and a Levell taken for a Canal from Dudbridge to Cricklade. And the Committee is hereby empowered to procure proper Persons to make such Survey. And We do agree to defray the Expence of the same Provided it do not exceed the Sum of Fifty Pounds.
Ordered that a Bounty of One Shilling per Ton be paid by our Clerk for all Coals take from Wallbridge Wharf to Springs MIll and Stone Bridge in the Parish of Painswick and also for all Coals taken beyond either of the aforesaid Places.
