At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 21^st of June 1781
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, Fream Arundell, James Dallaway, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath settled with M^r Butcher agreeable to the Order of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order relative to the Wall for enclosing the Wharf at Wallbridge.
M^r Halliday not attending, Ordered that our Clerk do inform him of the next Meeting.
M^r Merrett hath finished the Plan of the Canal. Order that he be paid for the same.
Rece'd two Letters from M^r Lane relative to the Stone taken by M^r King. Ordered that our Clerk do inform M^r King that the Committee wished to settle for his Damages and Tythes, and at the same time expects that he will pay for the Stone, and Rent of Land. Also that our Clerk do give him Notice, that from next Ladyday he shall pay Seven Guineas per Annum for the Land late Baxters or quit the same.
Continued the Order for a Wear to take the water from the Stonehouse Levell.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath made M^r Keck and Offer of the Bitt of Land at Ryford at the Price of Thirty Guineas, which M^r Keck will consider off and give an answer.
Continued the Order for Repairing the Road at Nastend.
M^r Couch's Account is settled and the ballance paid him.
Ordered that W^m Wakefield have Notice given him to throw up the Garden before his House imediately.
Ordered that our Clerk do produce at the next Meeting a Rent Book of the Lands belonging to the Company.
Francis Hawes of Charles Street Cavendish Square London made out his Claim to one Share No 171 the Property of his late Sister Elizabeth Hawes as being her only Brother and Adminstrator of his Mother Elizabeth Hawes deceased who was the Adminstratix of her Daughter the said Elizabeth Hawes.
Reced two Letters from M^r Samuel Peach relative to settling matters relative to his Land at Whitmister. Ordered that a Letter be imediately wrote in Reply and that a Copy of the same be preserved.
Reced a Paper from the Owner of Harry's Acre stating his Objections relating to the Road to his Lands, the same in now answered and a Copy preserved.
Ordered that the second sett of Subscibers to the Loan be paid off with Interest.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 5^th of July next at five o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
