Summary

Ben Pashley to pile the bank at Ebley. Piling at Emmett’s Orchard to be deffered.
Water was stanked from running into the canal out of the rien ditch below Whitminster Lock but the stanks were cut through by some person unknown.
Benjamin Grazebrook reported that Mr Cambridge made an application to have the riens open to the canal and that he will be answerable for any inconvenience. The clerk was ordered to write to Mr Cambridge informing him there was a considerable quantity of mud already collected in consequence of the water from the rien ditches so unless he was prepared to regularly clear the mud, it was necessary to make good the stanks to turn the water through the trunk lately put in place.
William Franklin to be employed to do the repairs of the bridge and stonework of the bridges and weirs.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 18^th July 1782
Present: Joseph Wathen, Ben^m Grazebrook, John Hollings, James Dallaway, Fream Arundell.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath purchased some Oak Slabs for the purpose of Piling, which Ben^n Pashley is preparing in order to Pile the bank at Ebley, which is under a necessity of being done imediately. ~~ Ordered that the Piling at Kemmetts Orchard be defferr'd, and the Piling at Ebley attended to.
Our Clerk hath waited several times on W^m King in order to settle with him, when M^r King inform'd him that he had some Demands on the Company which he had not made out, but would get the same ready very soon. ~~ Our Clerk hath made out the Account with M^r King leaving blanks for the Stone he hath taken.
Our Clerk hath applied to M^r Colborne respecting M^r Webbs Gate leading to the Wharf, and it appears that M^r Webb has a right to the same, it being mentioned in the Surrender of the Land.
Our Clerk Reported that the water has been stanked from running into the Canal out of the Rien Ditch below Whitmister Lock, but the Stanks were soon cut through by some Person unknown.
M^r B: Grazebrook Reported that M^r Cambridge hath made application to have the Riens open to the Canal and that he will be answerable for any inconveniency that may attend the same.
Ordered that our Clerk do write to M^r Cambridge informing him there is a considerable Quantity of Mud already collected in consequence of the water from the Rien Ditches, and in case he will engage to clear the same as often as it shall be found necessary that the Rien may continue to run into the Canal, otherwise the Stanks must be made good to turn the water through the Trunks lately put in for that purpose.
Ordered that M^r Franklin be employed to do the necessary Repairs of the brick and Stone work of he Bridge Wear, etc.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 1^st of August next at Nine o'Clock in the Morning at the George Inn in Stroud.
