Summary

Repairs to brick and stone work cannot be completed while the canal is kept full of water for the passage of vessels.
The flood gates near Lodgemore to be set about immediately.
The posts and rails at Dudbridge not executed in a proper substantial manner.
Walls at Westfield lock are not coming in.
Crane at Wallbridge to be altered to carry greater weights.
Ben Pashley wages of 4s per week will be taken off him at Michaelmas next, and that the house and garden only was allowed him for the care of the two lower locks.
Some rough oak posts and a single beech rail to be set up to secure the quick in the meadow at Wallbridge.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 29^th of August 1782
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas White, John Hollings, Ben^m Grazebrook, James Dallaway.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
No answer Yet Received from M^r Cambridge. ~~ Ordered that our Clerk to apply to M^r W^m King to know if he hath Rece'd any Letter from M^r Cambridge respecting the Rien Ditches.
The Repairs of the Brick & Stone Work is not yet compleated, on Account of the Canal being kept full for the Passage of Vessells. Ordered that the same be completed as soon as possible.
Ordered that the Flood Gates near Lodgemore be sett about imediately, and in case M^r W^m Franklin do not attend to the same that some other Person be employed.
Our Clerk Reported that the Post and Railing at Dudbridge put up by Ew^d Keene is 53 yards. ~~ It appears on a Survey taken by the Committee of the said Post and Railing, that the same is not executed in a proper Substantial manner.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath measured the Lock at West Field, but cannot perceive that it come in.
Ordered that the Crane at Wallbridge be altered and made capable of lifting greater weight with Safety.
Ordered that Ben^n Pashley have notice given him that his Wages of 4^s per Week will be taken off at Michaelmas next, and that the House and Orchard only, will be allowed him for the care of the two lower Locks.
Ordered that some Rough Oak Posts and a single Beech Rail be put up imediately to secure the Quick in the Meadow at Walbridge.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 3^d October next at five o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
