Mr White is willing to sell the company a piece of land at Stonehouse Cross.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 16^th January 1783
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, John Allaway, James Dallaway, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath waited on M^r Lane respecting M^r James's Business; and M^r Jepson being from home nothing was done. Ordered that our Clerk do write to Mess^rs Lane & Jepson informing them that the Committee is very uneasy at the Business being so delayed, and to desire them to fix a Day when our Clerk may waite upon them in order to settle the same.
Our Clerk Reported that he hath waited on M^r Tho^s White Respecting the purchase of a bit of Land at Stonehouse Cross, when M^r White inform'd him that the Company are welcome to such past as they think proper at a fair price, as soon as it is in his power to grant it.
Ordered that proper Notice be given to M^r Sam^l Arundell and M^r William Robinson that their Loans of £250 each, will be paid off at the end of three Months.
Reced a Letter from M^r Cambridge informing us that he hath appointed M^r Organ to manage his Business at Whitmister and desiring a Person may be sent to meet him on the Lands to consult the mutual advantage of the Canal & Meadows. Ordered that our Clerk do meet M^r Organ at the first Opportunity.
Our Clerk Reported that M^r Samuel Purnell hath applied for payment for a bitt of Land of his, taken from Westend Meadow for the Canal, and that it appeared to have been measured by mistake to M^r Stephens. Ordered that our Clerk do examine into the same and settle with M^r Purnell.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 10^th of February next at five o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
