At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Friday the 3^rd of Sep^r at Eleven o Clock in the forenoon
Present: Nathaniel Winchcombe, Henry Burgh, John Hollings, Jos^h Grazebrook, John Colborne, Jn^o Allaway.
M^r Winchcombe reported that he has written to M^r Cambridge in pursuance of the Request of the last Meeing and produced M^r Cambridges Answer which we consider as an acquiessence with the proposal made to him and therefore ordered that our Clerk do immediately pay M^r Sam^l King the Sum of Thirty five Pounds as a Compensation for all Damages for the Meadow called Thatchers and at the same time inform M^r King that the Company will not pay any more money on that Account.
Our Clerk reported that one of the Clows of the fourth Lock from Chippenhams Platt is much out of Repair. Ordered that the same be immediately repaired and no Barge to pass till it be compleated.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 11^th of October next at two o Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
