At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Monday the thirteenth of December 1790
Present: Nathaniel Winchcombe, Benj^n Grazebrook, John Hollings, Jos^h Grazebrook, Henry Burgh.
Read the Minutes of the last General Meeting.
Ordered that our Clerk do (in pursuance of an Order at the last General Meeting) wait on M^r Whitcombe our Sollicitor to apply to M^r Kech for the Payment of Fifty eight Pounds five Shillings and nine pence halfpenny Occasioned by the Repair of the Double Lock by M^r Clews, and in Case of his Noncompliance that he pursue such measures as he shall see fit to enforce the same.
The Rev^d James Dallaway attended and made out his Claim to two Shares N^o 102, 103 in the Stroudwater Navigation late the Property of his Father M^r James Dallaway deceased by producing the Probate of the Will of his said Father proved in the Perogative Court of the ArchBishop of Canterbury whereas it appears that the Rev^d James Dallaway aforesaid is intituled to the said two Shares, and the said Claim is hereby admitted.
Rec^D an Account from M^r Whitcombe for Law business during the Partnership between him and the late M^r Lane amounting to Seventeen Pounds seven Shillings & five pence. Ordered that our Clerk do immediately pay the same.
A Report having been made of M^r Joseph Hawker being seen fishing in the Canal, Ordered that our Clerk do inform him that the Committee apprehend he is unacquainted with the Right of the Company respecting the Fish in the Canal, and wish to acquaint him in case he shall be seen fishing again they will be obliged to enforce the Law against him.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Wednesday the ninth of April at Eleven o'Clock in the forenoon at Stroud.
