Meeting of Land and Mill holders to be held at Newport Wednesday 21 December to consider proposed deviation of Gloucester & Berkeley Company from line laid down by Act. Mr Sam Wathen, Mr Grazebrook to attend.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Wednesday the 14^th of December 1796
Present: Rev^d Will^m Ellis, Benj^n Grazebrooke, Sam^l Wathen, Jos^h Grazebrooks, Nath^l Wathen, Rowles Scudamore.
Read the minutes of the last Committee and General Meetings.
Continued the Order respecting the Canal Banks and M^r Hoggs.
A Meeting of the Land and Mill holders being fix'd to be held at Newport next Wednesday to take into consideration the proposed deviation of the Glocester and Berkley Canal Compnay from the line laid down by their Act, it is judged necessary that some members of our Committee should be present. M^r Sam^l Wathen and M^r Grazebrooke are therefore requested to attend at such Meeting.
Adjourned this Meeting to Wednesday the 25^th of Jan^y next at 3 o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
