Special Meeting of Committee. Josiah Isles Wathen to retain solicitor resident in London and instruct him to prepare for insertion of clauses in Bill on Petition of Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Company through Houses of Parliament.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Friday the 30^th of December 1796
Present: Rav^d Will^m Ellis, Nath^l Wathen, Josiah Isles Wathen. Benj^n Grazebrooke, Sam^l Wathen
Resolved that M^r J I Wathen be requested to retain a Solicitor resident in London and to instruct such Solicitor to prepare for insertion in the Bill depending in Parliament upon the Petition of the Glocester and Berkley Canal Company proper Clauses and provisions for the indemnification of our Company, in pursuance of the resolutions of our Committee of the Date of the 19^th of Sep^r last, and of that of the last General Half Yearly Meeting, and to attend to the Bill during its progress through the Houses of Parliament.
