At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 8^th of July 1800
Present: Rev^d Jos^h Colborne, Rowles Scudamore, Nath^l Wathen, Nath^l Jones, Jos^h Grazebrooke, Ew^d Wood.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order respecting the Warehouse at Bristol Road.
The application made by M^r Newman Clerk to the Thames & Severn Canal Company which was mentioned in the Minutes of the last Meeting having undergone the consideration of the Committee, Resolved that our Clerk do report to him that our Company will consent to relinquish one half of the amound of or demand for Tonnage on all Goods, Wares and Merchandize that may be conveyed upon the Stroudwater Canal while the Navigation shall continue to be impeded by the rebuilding of Blunder Lock.
M^r Joseph Grazebrooke attended on behalf of Anna Maria Theobold formerly of the Parish of St George Bloomsbury, but now of Camden Town in the County of Middlesex, Widow, and made out her Claim to two Shares N^o 96, 97 in the Stroudwater Navigation late the Property of Peter Theobold her Husband deceased by producing the Probate of the Will of the said Peter Theobold bearing date in the year of our Lord 1782, and duly proved in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury the 19^th day of November 1799, whereby the Administration of all and singular the Goods and Chattels of the said Peter Theobold as granted to the said Anna Maria Theobold widow the Relict of the said deceased and sole Executrix and her Claim to the said two Shares is hereby admitted accordingly.
The Swivell Bridge at Lodgemore being in such a decayed state as to render it dangerous, Ordered that a new Swivell Bridge be erected with Oak in a square direction over the Canal as soon as proper Timber can be procured for that purpose.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 28^th Ins^t at 6 o'Clock in the afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge.
