General Half Yearly Meeting. Tonnage £1528 11s 7d. Balance £730 3s 5d. Dividend of £3 15s declared.
John Share, in service of Company for about 14 years, was drowned in Navigation while occupied in business of Company. Assistance to widow and nine children.
At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 14^th of October 1800

The Minutes of the last General Meeting were Read and Confirmed.
The Several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the Affairs of the Company as directed by the Act of Parliament and Examined and Confirm'd.
It appears by the Accounts that the Sum of 1528^£..11^s..7^d has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 8^th day of April last to this day a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages, Disburstments, etc, there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last Dividend the sum of 730^£,,3^s,,5^d.
Ordered that a Dividend of 3^£..15^s on each Share be paid by the Treasurer on the 1^st day of November next, and that our Clerk do transmit Circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to him for Payment of the same.
It being reported that Jn^o Shear (who had been in the service of the Company during about fourteen years) was drowned in the Navigation a short time since while occupied in the Business of the Company, Resolved that it be a direction to our Committee to take the calamitous case of his Widow and family of nine Childred into their Consideration and to order such pecuniary assistance as may appear to them to be necessary.
