At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 13^th of October 1801
Sam^l Wathen Esq^r in the Chair.
The Minutes of the last General Meeting were Read and Confirmed.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the Affairs of the Company as directed by the Act of Parliament and Examined and Confirmed.
It appears by the Accounts that the Sum of £1145..14^s..9^d has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 14^th of April last to this day, a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages, Disburstments, etc, there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last Dividend, and the 300^£ in addition to the Coal trade the sum of £881..14^s..2½^d.
Ordered that a Dividend of 4^£ on each Share be paid by the Treasurer on the second day of November next, and that our Clerk do transmit Circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them they may draw upon the Treasurer, or apply to him for payment of the same.
Our Servant W^m Beard having requested to purchase of the Company a piece of Land situated near Bonds Mill called the Three Cornered piece, containing about one Acre, and it appearing to this Meeting that the same is not at present, nor likely to become at any future time useful to the Navigation, Resolved that it be sold to him at the price of Fifty Pounds.
