Summary

Letter from Rev George Owen Cambridge, on part of his father Mr Owen Cambridge. Proposal that Company pay £26 as moiety of expense of new stone weir and also that a sufficient embankment on site of wooden weir should be built at the expense of the Company. Company harmless to future expense of repair of stone weir or putting up new one. Agreement to be prepared.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Thursday the 2^nd of Sep^r 1802
Present: Nath^l Wathen, Benj^n Grazebrooke, Rev^d W^m Ellis, Nath^l Jones, Rev^d Jos^h Colborne, Jos^h Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Orders unexecuted of the 3^rd of June last.
Read a Letter received from the Rev^d George Owen Cambridge in which on the part of M^r Owne Cambridge his Father he agrees to the proposals made by the Letter of the 30^th of July worded according to the tenor of the Resolution of the Committee of the 29^th of July, in oder to avoid the inconvenience that would result form having Workmen employed in this business at the charge of both the Company and of M^r Cambridge, it is proposed in this Letter that 26^£ be paid by the Company to M^r Owen Cambridge being the computed moiety of the expence of erecting the new Stone Wear, as well as that, a good sufficient embankment be made at the Companys expence on the Scite of the present wooden Wear, with both part of which proposal it is agreed immediatly to comply, adding a proviso in the intended Agreement to be entered into, by which the Company shall be saved harmless from any future expence relative to the repairs of the Stone Wear now to be erected, or to the putting up of any new one. Resolved that a Letter to this effect be immediatly written to be sighend by the Chairman of the Committee stating the acquiescence of the Committee in his proposal and requesting him to get the Draft of an Agreement prepared to transmit it for the perusal of the Committee as soon as possible.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 11^th of October next at three o Clock in the Afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge.
