Continued the Orders unexecuted of the 3^rd June last.
It appearing that the Intention exists on the part of certain individuals resident at Glocester and in its vicinity to apply to Parliament for a Bill authorizing the erection of a New Bridge over the Severn at the West gate in the City of Glocester, and permitting the demand of a certain Toll per Ton on all Vessels passing up and down the said River Severn, Resolved that the carrying into effect that part of the above schism, as far as respects the demand of a Toll on the Navigation of such River appears to be entirely unjustifiable and most injurious to the interests of this Company, and therefore that all due opposition should be made to this measure. As immediate information respecting the state of this business appears very important, the Rev^d Joseph Colborne is requested to procure, and report the same to the next Meeting of the Committee.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 11^th of April next at the Committee room at Walbridge at 3 o'Clock in the Afternoon.
