Summary

Drawback of 6d per ton to be allowed to Mr Jas. Smith under his agreement with GWR on all coals carried to a wharf beyond the branch from Kemble to Cirencester on production of a certificate from the Thames & Severn Canal Co that they have allowed a drawback.
Application for reduction of tonnage on wheat carried to Ryeford Mill not considered expedient.
Edwin Gyde is permitted to re-erect a pen on Ryeford Wharf.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 15th day of November 1848
Present: M^r Hen^y Sikes, M^r Cha^s Hooper Chairman, G H A Beard, Rich^d Martin, T C Croome, Jn^o Holbrow, J H Warman.
The Bond from M^r J C Hallewell the Treasurer and his Surety M^r Joseph Watts was produced to this Meeting duly executed by them.
The Conveyance by the Enfranchisement of the Copyhold Lands belonging to this Company was produced executed by M^r Croome and M^rs Mansfield.
Ordered that the Seal of this Company be affixed thereto with a view to its Registration by the Clerk of the Peace according to the Act of Parliament.
The Resolution of the last General Meeting of this Company in reference to the Drawback on Coal carried through this Navigation to the Great Western Railway was read and considered.
Ordered that the Drawback of Sixpence per Ton alluded to in that Resolution be allowed on all Coals carried by M^r Ja^s Smith under his Agreement with the Great Western Railway Company through the whole of this Navigation and actually delivered to and carried on the Great Western Railway beyond the Branch from Kemble to Cirencester and to some spot beyond Kemble either on the main line or on the Cheltenham Brance, on production of a Certificate from the Clerk of the Thames and Severn Canal that a Drawback has been allowed by that Company according to the arrangement agreed on.
An Application from M^r Awford for a Reduction in Tonnage on Wheat carried to the Ryeford Mill was considered, but it appears to this Meeting that such reduction is not at present expedient.
An Application from M^r Edwin Gyde for the re-erection of the Pen at the Ryeford Wharf was received.
Ordered that M^r Driver cause the same to be done.
