Four candidates selected for office of Clerk attended Special Meeting. Mr Randall of Stroud, Mr Easton of Chester, Mr Kent of Wolverhampton, Mr Harris of Worcester. George Easton chosen.
At an Adjourned Special Meeting of the Stroudwater Navigation Committee held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Saturday the 10th day of June 1854
Present: M^r Fred^k Eycott, M^r C Hooper Chairman, G H A Beard, Rich^d Martin, W^m Fryer, C H Fisher, T C Croome.
At this Meeting the four Candidates referred to in the previous resolution attended and explained their views to the Committee. Namely M^r Randall of Stroud, M^r Easton of Chester, M^r Kent of Wolverhampton and M^r Harris of Worcester.
The Committee after careful consideration of the various Testimonials are of opinion that M^r George Easton of Chester is the best qualified Candidate and unanimously recommend him to the General Meeting for the appointment.
