Ford Bros to be charged 1s per ton on flour taken down canal in excess of wheat brought up.
Tonnage of 1d a ton to be charged on coke taken from Gas Works to Thames & Severn Canal.
Thomas Lawrence, captain of the Maiden Oak of Lydney, to be fined 10s for leaving a bridge unfastened on 15 December.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 21^st day of December 1858
Present: M^r C Hawker, M^r H Harris Chairman, J H Warman, C Hooper, G H A Beard, T C Croome, F Eycott, H H Wilton.
A Letter from Mess^rs Ford Brothers was read asking this Company to carry down the Navigation without Tonnage as much Flour as will represent the number of Tons of Welsh Coal carried up this Navigation for the Mill.
Resolved that the Committee does not see the way to agree to this proposal but that in future 1^s/ per Ton be taken on any excess of Flour carried down the Navigation over the quantity of Wheat carried up the same.
An application from the Gas Company was considered as to the carriage of Cake from the Gas Works to Brimscombe.
Resolved that a Tonnage Rate of 1^d per Ton be charged by this Company on Coke carried from the Gas Works into the Thames & Severn Canal.
Tho^s Lawrence the Captain of the Maiden Oak of Lydney Trotter & Ridlet Master was ordered to be fined 10^s/ for leaving a Bridge unfastened on 15^th Dec^r 1858.
