Eliza Beale claimed share no.158, will of John Evans Beale.
Mr Leys, Inspector of Weights and Measures, to receive £2 for adjustments to weighbridge at Dudbridge.
Tonnage of coke from Gas Works to Saul Junction to be 4d.
Mr G Ford proposed inspection of alterations to his steamer the ‘Queen Esther’ to see whether she could pass the locks of the canal.
Bateman and Son to provide 3 dozen Port, 3 dozen Sherry and 3 dozen Bucellas.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 15 day of February 1859
Present: M^r J H Warman, M^r C Hooper Chairman, Cha^s Hawker, G H A Beard, F Eycott. H^y Harris.
M^r Henry Pavey of Nailsworth in the County of Gloucester attended on behalf of Elize Beale of N^o 11 Farliegh Villas Pembury Road Hackney in the County of Middlesex Widow and made out the Claim of the said Eliza Beale to one Share N^o 138 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation as sole Executrix and residuary Legatee of John Evans Beale late of Plaistow in the County of Essex Surgeon lately belonging to and now standing in the name of the said John Evans Beale deceased in the books of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing the Probate of the Will of the said J E Beale deceased bearing date the 27^th day of November 1839 and proved at the principal Registry of Her Majesty's Court of Probate on teh 29^th day of July 1858 by the said Eliza Beale Widow of the deceased and Sole Executrix and also a Declaration of the said E Beale that the said Title or Ticket was lost or mislaid and the Claim of the said E Beale was admitted accordingly & a new Ticket ordered to be made out.
A Letter from M^r Leys the Inspector of Weights and Measures was read asking for some remuneration for attending the adjustment of the Weigh Bridge at Dudbridge.
Ordered that he be allowed £2..-..-.
An application from S Hall was made for a rate of Tonnage on Coke exported from the Stroud Gas Works to the Junction of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal.
Ordered that 4^d per Ton be charged for the same.
M^r G Ford attended and requested that a Sub-Committee might be appointed to meet him and inspect the Steamer the "Queen Esther" with certain alterations he had recently made in her with a view of seeing whether she could pass the Locks of the Canal.
Resolved that a Sub-Committee be appointed for the purpose consisting of the following Gentlemen Mess^rs C Hooper, N S Marling, H H Wilton& G H A Beard.
