Mr Aaron Ford proposed to bring wheat down Canal from any place beyond Chalford to Framilode at 4d per ton provided none brought first by railway, and that they be allowed 4d per ton on excess of flour exported to amount of wheat brought down. Accepted.
Mr Hunt’s application to put a feed pipe to boiler of his steam engine at Lodgemore Mills accepted. Written memorandum as acknowledgement for use. Company to withdraw at any time.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Thursday the 26^th day of April 1860
Present: M^r C Hawker, M^r T M Croome Chairman, J H Warman, H Harris, F Eycott, C Hooper, G H A Beard, N S Marling.
The various Accounts Books and Vouchers signed by M^r Cooper the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced & examined.
The Treasurer's Book was produced examined and signed.
M^r Aaron Ford attended and proposed that his Firm should be allowed to bring Wheat throughout the whole length of the Canal downwards from any place beyond Chalford to Framilode at the rate of four pence per Ton with a distinct understanding that the none should first be brought there by Railway to be carried and that they should be allowed four pence per Ton on the Excess of Flour exported to the amount of Wheat so brought down.
Resolved that the proposition be accepted.
M^r Hunt having applied for leave to put in a feed Pipe to the Boiler of his Steam Engine at Lodgemore Mills,
Ordered that he be at liberty to do so on his signing a written memorandum by way of acknowledgement for the use of it, with power for the Company to withdraw it at any time.
Ordered that the Annual Stoppage for Repairs of the the Navigation do commence on Thursday 10^th May and that the Navigation be again opened on Thursday 17 May.
Ordered that the following bill be paid:
